Step 1: Audit Your Power Needs (The Blueprint)

Identify the essential appliances you want to run during an outage (e.g., refrigerator, modem, lights, well pump, furnace blower). Find the wattage (for power) and watt-hours (for energy) of each device. (A device that uses 100 watts for 5 hours uses 500 watt-hours).
